New Shoes..

Hi Ladies, I know it's been a while but i've had pretty much nothing of interest to post about!
However, today has been a fabulous day on the shopping front. With the intention of purchasing my last few christmas gifts I took a trip to Matalan, with a 20% off voucher in hand! Browsing around I saw the most amazing shoes. I'm not usually one for spending on myself but it would have been a crime to leave the store without them. I was in need of a pair of shoes that I could wear with jeans on a smart/casual occasion, but that I could also wear for a dressy occasion and thought these were perfect....

 

 

How gorgeous are they?! And the price was even better- at only £22 before my 20% deduction I thort they were a bargin, but thanks to my voucher they came to £17.60!!
I then spotted a second pair which I thought were lovely for the christmas season, and at £12 down from £20 I could not fight the temptaion!

I was really impressed at these finds as usually I can never find anything in Matalan, despite loving many items that I see in other bloggers posts, so I think this is a real personal victory! YEY ME! And at those prices- I dont even feel guilty!!

Beathlovebeauty giveaway

Good evening ladies! 'What's so good about it?' I hear you ask! Well I shal tell you!
After a hectic start to my working week I was glad to get home this evening, put my feet up and look forward to the prospect of a day off tomorrow.

Getting to know me

Hello again ladies! I am proud to annouce I now have an impressive 20 followers! (well its impressive to me in under a week) I'm still finding my feet so please do bare with me and keep your comments and hints coming- I really appreciate all your help and support :)
So tonight, after returning from watchng a fireworks display, Ive been having a play around to try and get familiarsed with this blogging world- its very dauting for me!!
Since starting my blog last week I have signed up for 'Secret Santa for Bloggers' - a post I saw by Vicki Higham. I just though this was such a fantastic idea and I couldnt wait to enter! After becoming recently single (get the violins out), and my present from my parents being a holiday to Benidorm, the thought of waking up christmas morning with NO PRESENTS was very bleak and miserable. But when I saw this post I must admit I got a little excited that I could recieve a surprise gift. The idea is you will get paired up with another blogger who has signed up and by reading their blog and getting to know them, send them a gift you think they will like. Now as I have only just set up this blog anyone would struggle to 'get to know me' so here I am writing a post to help you do just that....

I love to read all blogs about beauty and fashion- I openly admit I'm clueless in these areas so I love being able to get tips on beauty products and what clothes are in fashion by those who are in the know!

 I love to dance and attend a dance school, run by my friend, where we take part in local competitions every summer and an annual winter show. (expect to see some posts about dancing in the future)

I love going out with my best friends- a wild bunch! Sometimes I definately drink a little more than acceptable but hell you only life once as the saying goes!

I love to read novels and autobiographys. Some of my favourites include; Harry Potter, Twilight, 50 Shades, Katie Price's autobiogprahys to name a few. A few new books I would love to get my hands on would include: autobigoraphys of Tulisa and Cheryl, and the new novel by JK Rowling. (not hinting...honest)

I'm completely Harry Potter obsessed- like seriously! I have a whole display cabinet at home filled with books, dvds, bluerays, photos from when I visited Harry Potter studios in London, a wand and a chocolate frog all the way from Florida! Oh and I have a deathly hallows keyring! I even dressed up to go to the cinema for the last movie in Harry Glasses, a home made tshirt and writing all over my face! Yes- I really am THAT sad! But I dont care :)

I hope all my followers/readers can find this post useful to get to know me a little better, and that whoever gets me in secret santa gets a little idea of perhaps what to get me :)

A perfect gift

So after setting up my Blog last night I have (drumroll please)..... 4 followers! woohooo! I realise this is a poor amount but never the less I am proud of myself and things can only get better.
After my first post just being a sort of introduction, I want to take the time to write about something which I think people may be interested in- and since I only have 4 followers PLEASE people give this post some publicity...
One of my best friends Charlotte Millis has just begun a new business venture doing nails at 'The Hair Lounge'(Barrow in Furness) and I really want to give her some publicity because she is absolutely amazing! After doing nails on the side for a few years Charlotte is setting up her own room and starting at the hair lounge ( twitter page: https://twitter.com/_thehairlounge ) this week! (exciting times).
Now I am not a 'girly-girl', and being a dental nurse I'm not allowed to have nails on for work. But for special occasions Charlotte has given me the 'weekend nails' treatment and I have totally loved them every time!!

 

 

 Charlotte offers all kinds of treatment for nails and as I'm sure you will agree she is fabulous!!!
With christmas fast approaching I think a voucher with Charlotte would be the perfect gift for a loved one- mothers, sisters, girlfriends, friends....

A blogpost about a blogpost...

So I've taken the plunge and set up this blog! I have no idea what I am doing but I'm hoping a few lovely ladies whom I follow are going to help me find my feet!
I first discovered 'blogging' through the lovely Kayleigh Johnson, a friend from my home town, who I follow on twitter. Kayleigh, who is a journalism graduate, writes about fashion & beauty- 2 subject which I will not pretend I have knowledge in!! But from reading Kayleighs blog (which I have become slightly obsessed with if I'm totally honest) has given me a few tips! She really knows what she is talking about and manages not to overwelm the likes of myself, but makes beauty and fashion seem really simple.
I have interested in setting up my own blog for a few months, but due to a lack of confidence and simply thinking I am too dull for people to spend their time reading about, I have always put it off! That is until I saw a certain post from Kayleigh. straight away the word 'GIVEAWAY' launched itself at me! (everyone loves a freebie right?) And as I always enjoy reading about the products Kayleigh reviews I was so excited that I could have a chance of getting my hands on something she recommends.
So here I am starting my very own blog! I hope not to bore anyone too much (if i get any followers at all) and that you find the blogs I have suggested in this post as useful and enjoyable to read as I do.

Please, anyone feel free to leave me some help/feedback on how to get going with blogging!
